Govt to recruit over 18,000 through five BCS exams

The government will recruit a total of 18,149 individuals, including 12,710 cadre posts and 5,439 non-cadre posts, through five-- 43rd to 47th-- Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examinations.

Md Mokhles Ur Rahman, senior secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, informed this at a press briefing at the ministry's conference room on Sunday.

He said that 2,064 people will be recruited in the 43rd BCS; 1,710 in the 44th BCS; 2,309 in the 45th BCS, 3,140 in the 46th BCS; and 3, 487 people in the 47th BCS cadre posts.

Besides, 18,149 people including 642 people from the 43rd BCS; 1,791 from the 44th BCS, 1,570 from the 45th BCS; 1,111 from the 46th BCS; and 325 people from the 47th BCS will be appointed for non-cadre posts.

He also mentioned that officials who have been deprived of promotions will be elevated to Grade-1 positions before their retirement.
