Asif asks students to place allegations to govt through college authorities

He made the call at a press briefing at Foreign Service Academy here this evening.
Asif said the clash in Dr Mahbubur Rahman Mollah College was originated centering the death of a student of the college, who was suffering from dengue.
There was allegation of negligence against National Medical College behind this death and it could not be known how Shaheed Suhrawardy College was involved in this incident, he said.
Then chase and counter-chase took place among the students of the colleges, the adviser said move is going to take legal action against those involved in the clashes and such incidents will not be tolerated in the future.
He said the law enforcement agencies and the college authorities tried to resolve the issue but clashes among students could not be prevented.
Mentioning that there were rumours in social media that seven students of Shaheed Suhrawardy College and three of Dr Mahbubur Rahman Mollah College were killed in the clashes, Asif said there is no report of death so far but many students were injured in the clashes.
But, he said, the government has taken measures to ensure treatment of the injured students.
Information and Broadcasting Adviser Nahid Islam and Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam were also present at the press briefing.
On Monday (today), clashes erupted among the students of Shaheed Suhrawardy College, Kabi Nazrul College and Dr Mahbubur Rahman Mollah College in the city. —BSS
