Joint forces in a drive arrested two people along with a pistol and 24 machetes at Boalkhali upazila in Chittagong district early Tuesday.
The forces, consisting of police and army personnel, arrested the duo from Ward No 3 under Boalkhali municipal area at around 5:00am.
The arrested people are Arafat, 32 and Mohiuddin Hamim, 18, residents of the area.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of law enforcement conducted a raid in the area and arrested them at Badu Hazi's house. During the operation, law enforcement agencies recovered the arms from their possession.
Mejor Rasel, commander of Boalkhal army camp, confirmed the matter.
The arrested were handed over to the Boalkhali Police Station for further legal procedures, he added.
