BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman on Wednesday urged people to keep patience and remain vigilant of the political situation.
A statement signed by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, the defeated fascist forces are hatching conspiracy to destabilize the country and divide the nation.
In a statement Tarique highlighted 16 points and called on the nation to stay united and aware of the ongoing challenges.
Tarique said, "The nation faces a volatile situation following the ousting of the autocratic regime. In the country the people are demanding their rights and associates of the defeated fascist forces are fuelling unrest and seeking revenge."
He said, "Over the last 15 years, the fugitive autocrat created systemic irregularities and deprived citizen from their rights. The current movements by people from all walks of life aim to restore those rights and banish corruption from the country."
Tarique said, "Opportunists linked to the ousted regime are reportedly trying to destabilize the government by exploiting ongoing public movements."
"The nation is observing their visible efforts to incite unrest nationwide, using legitimate public grievances as a pretext for conspiracy and disorder," said BNP Acting Chairman.
He said incidents in Dhaka and other regions over the past few days are interconnected and reflect a concerning trend of attempts to undermine state stability.
He questions, why student leaders are now showing hostility toward one another. Whereas few months ago they played important role in the anti-autocratic movements shoulder to shoulder.
Tairque said, "Vandalism and arson in educational institutions cannot be considered as isolated incident. We urged the concern authority to investigate and monitor such activities closely."
"The government is advised to investigate whether the fugitive regime is attempting to create communal tensions and to take measures to prevent such attempts," he said.
Tarique said, "The government has to address economic hardships of the people as many families are struggling to cope with surging price of daily necessities."
He urged the interim government to ensure political and economic empowerment of citizens and work to maintain public trust, avoiding actions that could fracture unity.
He urged the people to remain calm, vigilant and united.
