The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) on Monday ordered authorities concerned to produce former food minister Qamrul Islam and former industries minister and Awami League advisory council member Amir Hossain Amu before it on December 4.
The three-member tribunal, led by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder, passed the order, allowing a plea of the prosecution.
According to the prosecutor, the two will be shown arrested in a case filed over crimes against humanity and genocide during the July-August mass uprising.
On November 6, Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested Amir Hossain Amu from Dhanmondi area of the capital in connection with the murder of Abdul Wadud, a 45-year-old trader at Priyangon Shopping Centre in New Market, who was killed during the student movement on July 19. He was placed on a six-day remand in the case.
On November 18, detectives detained Qamrul Islam from Uttara area. He was later shown arrested faces allegations tied to the same case. Qamrul was later placed on an eight-day remand in the case.
