The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) is completely ready to tackle any untoward situation at the frontiers.
"BGB is fully prepared and alert to prevent any kind of unwanted situation or mischief at the borders," said BGB HQs in a short message.
BGB has heightened security along the border to prevent any 'unwanted situation or malicious activities,' the paramilitary force announced on Tuesday.
The move follows Monday's attack by radical Hindu protesters on Bangladesh's Assistant High Commission at Agartala in India, which has escalated tensions between the two neighbouring countries.
The BGB's increased vigilance aims to ensure peace and stability, particularly as concerns grow over the fallout from recent events, including the arrest of former ISKCON leader Chinmoy Krishna Das on sedition charges in Bangladesh.
Adding to the tension, the violent death of government lawyer Saiful Islam Alif during clashes outside a court in Chattogram on November 27 has further strained the situation.
Bangladesh authorities have urged calm while emphasizing their commitment to maintaining border security and safeguarding national sovereignty in light of the recent developments.
