Youth stabbed dead in city's Kaptan Bazar

A young man was allegedly stabbed to death at Kaptan Bazar's Ershad Market near Gulistan in the capital on Wednesday.

The incident took place in the afternoon in front of the pocket gate on the ground floor of the market's building no. 1.
The victim was identified as Al Amin, 27, of Narinda Basu Bazar area in the capital.

The victim's two younger brothers were injured in the incident. Of them, Sumon, 25, is in critical condition.

In this regard, Sumon, who was injured in the incident, said, "We sell herbal medicines in that area. Several months ago, some young men from Wari parked a motorcycle in front of my shop. They had a fight with us over the parking of that motorcycle. Based on that, today 10-12 people came to my shop and started beating me up. Seeing this scene, my elder brother Al Amin tried to save me but was stabbed by them. Earlier, they stabbed me in the hand.''

Injured Sumon further said, "We have been able to recognize all of those who killed my brother and injured us."

Dhaka Medical College Hospital Police Camp In-charge (Inspector) Faruk said the body has been kept in the morgue for autopsy.

Wari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Faisal Ahmed said, ''We are investigating the incident.
