2 fishermen drown as boat capsizes in Noakhali

Two fishermen drowned and two others went missing as a fishing boat capsized in the Bay at Hatiya upazila in Noakhali district on Friday. 

The deceased were identified as Abdul Hashem, 50, son of late Abdul Ali of Burirchar, and M Juwel, 27, son of M Mostofa of the same village.
Police said that the boat was moving towards the Bay with 24 fishermen on board; suddenly the boat capsized in the Meghna estuary, hitting an island around 4 am. Two fishermen died while two others went missing. Twenty fishermen managed to swim ashore to the riverbank.

"Police are trying to rescue the missing fishermen," said Titu Kumar Nath, in charge of Hatiya's Nalchira river outpost.
