Farmer drowns in Kishoreganj river

A farmer drowned in Boithakhali river while a paddy-laden cargo ship sank in the river at Itna upazila in Kishoreganj district on Sunday. 

The deceased was identified as Eklash Uddin, 35, son of late Ali Rahman, a resident of Beyerkona village under Tarail upazila of the district.

Kishoreganj Fire Service Station Officer Abujar Gefari said a paddy-laden cargo ship sank in the river around 8 am and Eklash went missing.

Being informed, a team of divers from Kishoreganj Fire Station rushed to the spot and recovered the body of Eklash from the river around 1.30 pm, he added.
