International Human Rights Day observed in Khulna

KHULNA, Dec 10: With the theme 'Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now,' different organizations observed the International Human Rights Day in the city on Tuesday.

Marking the Day, Community Forum, a mass awareness and human resource development project of 'ADAMS' Foundation, brought out a procession that began from Daulatpur Mohsin intersection and ended at the independence memorial of Govt B L College.

Freedom fighter and ex-KCC mayor Moniruzzaman Mony who was also the trustee of the Foundation and members of all 24 ward committees joined the rally.

Later, a rally was held on the independence memorial premises. Among others, Executive Director of ADAMS Foundation S M Ali Aslam, Programme Coordinator Mizanur Rahman Raza, ex-KCC Councillor and President of 5-No Ward Committee Sheikh Kamruzzaman and community forum leader Abdul Mannan Sheikh, spoke.

While speaking at the rally, speakers underscored the need for completing the trial of previous cases of human rights violation and providing justice to all victims who waited for years.
