Eight shops gutted in Pirojpur fire

At least eight shops burnt down in a fire in Pirojpur's Nazirpur on Wednesday night due to short circuit.

The fire broke out at 11:30 pm at upazila's Sriramkathi Bazar.
Locals said the fire started from the shop of one Shahjahan, a grocer in the market, and spread to adjacent shops. 

Later, fire service was informed and two units tried for an hour to bring the fire under control. By then, eight shops including grocery, electronics and mobile shops were burnt down.

Nazirpur Upazila Fire Service Station Officer Soaib Hossain said that two units of the fire service tried for an hour to bring the fire under control. It seemed that the fire started from an electrical short circuit. The fire caused an estimated damage of Tk 20 lakh.
