Piash helps Fortis FC tame Fakirerpool YMC 3-0

Riding on a brace of striker Piash Ahmmed Nova and a goal of Gambian striker Omar Sarr, Fortis Football Club registered a 3-0 win over Fakirerpool Young Men's Club on Friday in the Bashundhara Group Bangladesh Premier League 2024-25 in Gazipur. 

It was the Shaheed Barkat Stadium in Gazipur  that hosted the match. A premier league match two weeks ago between Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited and Dhaka Wanderers Club drew harsh criticism due to the poor state of the field. At that time, the newly chosen ground was not prepared. It is not quite up to par yet.

The Friday-match also witnessed some issues including ground's uneven sites and lack of enough grass coverage. 

However, the match was a good fight between the Fortis and club area's Fakirerpool YMC boys. Although Piash and Omar Sarr scored the match winning goals, it was 27-year-old midfielder Mohammad Abdullah who assisted them most in scoring those goals.
 
The first half of the match saw some actions but no goals. The second half was intensed. The Fortis boys were looking for a scope to break the deadlock. Finally, in the 52nd minute, Gambian striker Omar opened the net after receiving the ball from Abdullah. 

Five minutes later, Piash doubled the lead with a solo effort. 

It seemed that the two-goal lead was easy enough for the Fortis to maintain till the end as the opponents already lost hope.

 But, Piash didn't want to squander another opportunity in the 85th minute as he received an amazing delivery from his fellow Abdullah and sent the ball home. 

As a result, Fakirerpool YMC boys left the ground with another devastating result that left them at the eight place on the BPL point table with zero point. 

The winners, Fortis FC, on the other hand, kept the fifth place with four points.
