A cold wave is blowing in Chuadanga district in the southwestern part of the country. On a cloudless day, a bone-chilling cold is being felt here due to the northern cold.
The intensity of the cold is increasing towards the end of the Agrahayan. On Saturday (December 14), the lowest temperature recorded in the district was 8.7 degrees Celsius.
According to Chuadanga Meteorological Office, winter has started in the district with dense fog for the past few days. Earlier, the temperature in the district was recorded at 15 degrees Celsius on December 10. The next day, on December 11, the temperature was 14 degrees Celsius. In a span of one day, on December 12, the temperature dropped to 10.2 degrees Celsius. And on December 13, the temperature dropped even lower to 9.8 degrees Celsius. Later, it dropped further and the temperature stood at 8.7 degrees on Saturday.
Chuadanga Meteorological Observatory in-charge Jaminur Rahman said that the temperature will drop further and the cold wave will continue until December 15. Then, the temperature will increase slightly from December 16. However, dense fog may continue.
