Three more die of dengue, 316 hospitalised

Three more people died from dengue and 316 more patients were hospitalised with viral fever in 24 hours till Saturday morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease in Bangladesh now rose to 548 and 98,504 dengue cases have been reported since January 1.
Of the recent fatalities, one death was reported in  Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), and each in Barishal devision, Khulna division (outside the city corporations).

Among the new patients, 95 were admitted to the hospitals under  Dhaka North City Corporatio DNCC and 63 were in DSCC.

Besides, some 318 people released from the hospitals after treatment during the period and 96,176 were released till date. 

Last year, dengue claimed the lives of 1,705 people, making it the deadliest year on record.
