A case of attempted murder has been filed against 145 individuals, including former Awami League MP Shamim Osman and Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader, in connection with an alleged shooting incident at Siddhirganj upazila Narayanganj.
The case also names Jatiya Party Secretary General Md. Mujibul Haque Chunnu, local Awami League leader Haji Yasin Mia, and former Narayanganj Club president Asib Hasan Mahmud, along with 400-500 unnamed individuals.
The plaintiff, Arif Mia, lodged the complaint on Friday night at Siddhirganj Police Station following a directive from the court.
According to the case, the incident occurred on July 19 at 2:30 pm during a protest against discrimination in front of Pro-Active Medical College & Hospital. Arif Mia alleges that the accused fired shots at demonstrators, and he was struck in the right knee by a bullet. He was subsequently rushed to Islamia Hospital for treatment.
Siddhirganj Police Station officer-in-charge Mohammad Shahinur Alam confirmed that the case has been officially registered and that law enforcement is working to apprehend those involved. Investigations are underway to uncover the full scope of the alleged incident.
