Some 764 retired officials under the public administration ministry, who were deprived of due ranks and financial benefits over the last 15 years during the Awami League regime, will now be provided with due facilities.
Md Mokhlesur Rahman, senior secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration (MOPA) revealed the information at a press briefing at the ministry on Sunday (December 16).
He said the benefits include ranks and financial compensations as per the recommendations of the review committee.
Earlier in the day, some deprived officials staged sit-in programme in front of the office of the senior secretary.
Mentioning the recommendations of the committee on 'deprived' officials and the government policy decisions, the senior secretary said there are some job regulations that must be followed.
Rahman expressed his hope that this process will be completed in short time.
The Accountant General (AG) office will calculate the financial benefits according to its scientific procedures. The same benefits will also applicable for pensions.
The committee submitted its report to Chief Advisor Dr Muhammad Yunus reviewing the applications of retired officials on December 10 and recommended promoting 764 retired officials to different ranks.
