The stage is set for an electrifying encounter in the Under-19 Asia Cup as Bangladesh U-19 takes on Sri Lanka U-19 today at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi. Both teams are eager to grab crucial points and strengthen their semi-final aspirations in this highly competitive tournament.

The match will begin at 7:00am (BST).

Bangladesh U-19, led by the charismatic Sumaiya Akter, is determined to showcase their grit and talent in this pivotal match. Vice-captain Afia Ashima Era will provide crucial support both as a leader and a dependable performer.

The team boasts a strong and diverse lineup with players like Fahomida Choya, Habiba Islam Pinky and Juairiya Ferdous ready to anchor the innings. Sumaiya Akther Suborna and Anisa Akter Soba bring depth to the middle order.

In the bowling department, spinners Nishita Akter Nishi and Maharun Nesa are expected to exploit the slow and dry Abu Dhabi conditions, while pacers like Sadia Akter and Jannatul Maoua will look to keep Sri Lanka's batters under pressure.

Sri Lanka U-19, led by Manudi Nanayakkara, enters the contest with a blend of experience and youth. They started the tournament with a massive 94-run victory against Malaysia after dominating performances from the skipper herself, Limansa Tilekerane, Hiruni Hansika, Rashmika Sewwandi, Asheni Thalagune and Pramudi Methsara.

The sides engage once before this match in January 2023, in which the Girls in Green and Red came out victorious by 10 runs.

The Sheikh Zayed Stadium is known for its bowler-friendly conditions, particularly aiding spinners. Batters will need to dig deep to post a competitive total, with 220-240 likely being a par score. Winning the toss could play a significant role, with teams likely to bat first and use the deteriorating pitch to their advantage while defending.
