Former panel mayor of Shariatpur Municipality Bachchu nabbed

SHARIATPUR, Dec 15: Police arrested former panel mayor of Shariatpur Municipality Bachchu Bepari on Sunday.

Bacchu Bepari, also a district unit leader of Juba League, was arrested by Damudya police from a house in Char Palang area of Ward No. 3 under the municipality in the afternoon. 

He was arrested in a case under the Explosives Act filed with Damudya Police Station (PS), and later on, he was sent to jail following a court order.
Officer-in-Charge of Damudya PS Hafizur Rahman Manik said that 123 bombs were placed on the side of the road in Uttar Akalbarish Village of Damudya Upazila recently. Bacchu has been arrested on suspicion of being involved in it.
