NARAYANGANJ, Dec 15: A college student, who was stabbed by snatchers in the city, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Saturday night.
Deceased Simanta, 20, was the son of Hazi Alam Chan of Deobhog Pakka Road area in the city. He studied in honours second year at a private college in Dhaka.
It was known that a group of snatchers stabbed Simanta in front of DEobhog Minnat Ali Mazar at around 6 am on Thursday while he was going to college, which left him critically injured.
Later on, the family members rescued him and admitted to the DMCH, where Simanta succumbed to his injuries at around 10:15 pm while undergoing treatment.
Officer-in-Charge of Narayanganj Sadar Police Station Md Nasir confirmed the incident, adding that the law enforcers are investigating the matter and trying to arrest those involved in the killing.
