Information and Broadcasting Adviser Nahid Islam has said that although Bangladesh achieved independence in 1971, it remained unprotected.
"Our independence has completed through the 2024 mass uprising," he said while speaking to reporters at the National Monument in Savar on Monday, marking the country's Victory Day.
Extending heartfelt greetings to the nation on this momentous occasion, adviser Nahid said that the triumph of 2024 had liberated the country from the clutches of "Awami fascism," enabling people to experience true victory.
Paying tribute to the martyrs of the Liberation War and the July uprising, he expressed his resolve to build a new Bangladesh, free from fascism and imperialism.
Nahid added, "This day is a testament to our resilience and determination to create a better future."
