MBSTU commemorates Victory Day with enthusiastic celebrations

Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University (MBSTU) celebrated the National Victory Day on Monday with a series of vibrant and meaningful programs. 

The celebrations reflected the spirit of independence and paid tribute to the sacrifices of the martyrs of the Liberation War. 
The day's events commenced at 7:00 AM in front of the university's administrative building, where the national flag and university flag were ceremoniously hoisted. 

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Anwarul Azim Akhand led the university community in placing a wreath at the "Pratyay-71" monument, honoring the memory of the martyrs who fought for the nation's freedom. 

Following this, various organizations from the university, including residential halls, departments, officers' and employees' associations, and student clubs such as Bandhan, Dhravatara, Sahitya Sangsad, Career Club, and Science Club, also laid wreaths at the monument as a mark of respect.  

The day was filled with a variety of activities that engaged students, faculty, and staff. Highlights included a children's drawing competition and biscuit race, a volleyball match featuring students against teachers, officers, and staff, and a lively pillow-passing game for female participants. Special prayers were held at Govinda Mandir and the Central Jama Masjid after Zuhr, invoking blessings for the nation.  

In the evening, a cultural program showcased the talent and creativity of the university community, further enriching the celebrations. Residential and non-residential students were treated to a special dinner in the halls, fostering a sense of unity and joy among the participants.  

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty deans, registrars, hall provosts, department chairpersons, Student Welfare and Counseling Center officials, proctors, teachers, officers, employees, and students, making it a memorable celebration of the nation's Victory Day.
