The body of a young man, who went missing in the Meghna River at Sarail in Brahmanbaria, was recovered after two days on Tuesday.
Fire service personnel recovered the body in the morning at Aruail of the upazila.
The dead Habib Mia, 30, son of Shamsu Mia, was a resident of Barpaika village under Aruail union.
Sarail Fire Service Station In-charge Riaz Mohammad said Habib Mia used to earn by fishing in the Titas River. On Saturday afternoon, a net got stuck in the wing of a bulkhead named Bepari Enterprise in the Meghna River. The people at Bulkhead made a deal with Habib for Tk 5,000 to recovered the net. Then Habib dived 10 feet under water to find the net from the wing of the boat but did not come up again.
Locals, after searching for a long time, informed police and fire service about the matter. Later, when the Sarail Fire Service tried but failed, a diving team was brought from Bhairab. They also tried but failed.
Later, on Tuesday morning, the body was found about one and a half kilometers away from the scene.
