A child died from electrocution in Chittagong's Hathazari upazila on Monday.
The accident took place at Kalabagan under ??Hathazari Municipality.
The deceased Md Bakul, 12, son of Saikat Ali of Chakaria in Cox's Bazar District. However, they had been living in a rented house behind KDS Garments in Oxygen area under ??Bayezid Police Station for a long time.
According to local and fire service sources, he was seriously injured after he suddenly came into contact with an electric wire while collecting scrap materials, papers and plastic from the second-floor tin roof of Firoza Noor Tower in bus station area on Monday.
On information, Hathazari Fire Service went to the scene and rescued in his injured condition and took to the Hathazari Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctor declared him dead.
Hathazari Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abu Kawsar Mahmud confirmed it.
