It was a magnificent display by Fortis Football Club, who beat holders Bashundhara Kings by 2-0 goals in their second Group A match of the Federation Cup Football held at Bashundhara Kings Arena on Tuesday.
In the proceeding, Uzbek defender Jasur Jumaev and midfielder Mohammad Abdullah scored one each, both in the second half, to secure Fortis's first victory in the tournament after the first half ended in a goalless draw.
Fortis, who played organized football all through the proceeding, kept the scoreboard clean, fighting neck to neck till the first half.
However, Jasur Jumaev finally broke the deadlock and scored the first goal for Fortis in the 78th minute.
Abdullah doubled the lead, scoring the second goal in the 78th minute of the match.
Kings, however, tried their best to stage a fight back in the match; they could not score any in the remaining proceeding, and eventually they had to leave the field with empty hands.
Forts will play against Dhaka Wanderers Club while Kings will face Bangladesh Police Football Club in their respective group matches scheduled to be held on December 31.
Earlier, Fortis Football Club split points with Bangladesh Police Football Club, playing out to a goalless draw, while Kings edged past Brothers Union Club in both their respective group opening matches held on December 3
