Warm clothes were distributed among poor people in four districts- Dinajpur, Noakhali, Pirojpur, and Rangamati, on Tuesday.
DINAJPUR: A joyous rally was held in Nawabganj Upazila of the district on Tuesday on the occasion of Christmas.
Two hundred poor children got quilts at a function held on the premises of Uttarbanga Shishu Unnayan Project Dawdpur BD-0278 of Uttarbanga Shishu Unnayan Project.
It was financed by Compassion International Bangladesh.
The function was presided over by Manager of the Uttarbanga Shishu Unnayan Project Dawdpur-BD Hijol Mandri.
As the chief guest, Union Chairman Ahsan Habib handed over the quilts to the children.
Assistant Supervisor of Upazila Social Service office Sabia Afrin, President of Rangpur Regional Baptist Church Shyamol Mardi, and Compassion International Bangladesh's Officer Parimol Hembrom were present as special guests.
Besides, a cultural event was arranged for the children.
NOAKHALI: Warm clothes were distributed among 500 underprivileged families in Hatia Upazila of the district on Tuesday.
At the initiative of non-government organisation Uddipon, the winter clothes have been provided.
The distribution function of the warm clothes was held in the upazila hallroom, which was financed by Muslim Aid UK. It was attended by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Ibne Al Jayed Hossain as the chief guest.
Among others, Acting Principal of Hatia Dwip Government College Tofael Hossain, Uddipon Head Office's official Rawshan Jannat Rushni, Deputy Manager and Focal Person (Winter Project) Shariful Islam, and Regional Manager-Sonapur and Branch Manager Anwar Hossain were present at the function.
The warm clothes packet included one blanket, four sweaters, four monkey caps, four fairs of gloves, one petroleum jelly and one travel bag.
PIROJPUR: District police on Tuesday morning distributed blankets among the distressed people.
The district police organized the event where Superintendent of Police (SP) Khan Mohammad Abu Naser was present as the chief guest. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sadar Police Station Md Abdus Sobahan Mia presided over the function where Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Operations) Md Mukit Hasan Khan attended as special guest.
'Bangladesh Police always stand beside poor, cold-hit people and natural disaster victims in the country as a part of humanitarian ground', SP Khan Mohammad Abu Naser made the remark in the distribution programme.
The SP also said, to keep law and order situation stable, they are conducting social solidarity activities round the years.
RANGAMATI: Bangladesh Army's 10th RE Battalion organized a distribution of winter clothes among the helpless families on Tuesday.
Under the direction of the Army Chief, winter clothes were distributed among the helpless and poor in Golachari area, which was supervised by 10th RE Battalion Kaptai Lt Col Muhammad Sohel.
Deputy Commander of the battalion distributed the winter clothes. The helpless people who received the winter clothes expressed their gratitude to the army.
