A young girl allegedly was gang raped after her mother was tied up at Kamalnagar upazila in Laxmipur district.

Following the incident, the victim's impoverished family, living in constant fear, has sought justice by filing a complaint with a local army camp.
The incident took place on December 9 in Battoli area of Char Kadira union.

The victim's family, who were displaced by Meghna River erosion, alleged that a group of five youths forcibly entered their home, tied up the mother and then raped her youth girl. The assailants also stole the family's gold jewelry before fleeing.

The victim's mother recounted that on the day of the incident, some unknown youths visited their home and inquired about the family members. Later that night, around 2 AM, the attackers broke into the house. While three of them restrained the mother, two entered the daughter's room and gang-raped her. Despite her desperate pleas, the attackers showed no mercy.

Following the incident, the victim's father, a rickshaw puller working in Feni, returned home and sought justice from local residents. However, the accused, led by a man identified as Md. Roni, retaliated by threatening the family.

The situation worsened when a man claiming to be an army personnel intervened and helped Roni evade local detention.

The father also alleged that local influential figures delayed justice under the pretense of resolving the matter while the accused continued to intimidate them. Left with no other option, the father filed a formal complaint with nearby Alexander Army Camp on December 11.

The victim's father, displaced by Meghna River erosion, shared his helplessness, saying, "We lost everything to the river and now live hand-to-mouth. Being poor and powerless, I hoped for local justice but the delays and threats forced me to seek help from the army."

An official from the army camp confirmed receiving the complaint and stated that a military intelligence team is investigating the matter.
