A total of 306,088 students have been selected for seats in first through ninth grade at all public schools and private schools in metropolitan and district Sadar areas.
A total of 98,205 students have been selected for the 108,716 seats available at 680 public schools. Another 207,883 students have the chance to fill the 1,007,673 seats available at private schools in metropolitan and district Sadar areas.
The public-private school lottery was held at the International Mother Language Institute on Tuesday. After a long digital process, the results were released in the afternoon.
Students can access their results through mobile phone SMS or on the admission website.
"In addition to the students selected in the initial lottery, the first and second waiting lists have been released. Everyone will get the results," said Mohammad Aziz Uddin, deputy director of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education's Secondary Wing and member secretary of the Dhaka Metropolitan Admission Committee.
"There are 79,502 applicants on the first waiting list for government schools and 101,156 for private schools. The second waiting list includes 58,558 applicants for public schools and 67,514 for private schools.
Those who were selected will be able to select their admission to public and private schools from Wednesday, Dec 18. The spots will remain open until Dec 23, Aziz said.
After that, the vacant spots will be filled with applicants from the first waiting list for three days and the second waiting list for two days, he added.
The results have been sent by SMS to the mobile phone numbers students used to register, according to the DSHE. They are also be available on the admission website (https://gsa.teletalk.com.bd/).
The results of the lottery can be downloaded and printed from the website using the login IDs and passwords guardians used to sign in. Head teachers will also be able to download the results of the lottery for their schools using their IDs and passwords.
