The Medical College and Dental Units of the Dhaka Community Hospital on Tuesday organized a discussion meeting and essay competition marking the Victory Day at the hospitals conference room.
Dhaka Community Medical College Principal Prof Dr ASM Monirul Alam presided over the meeting with freedom fighter Kaiser Ahmed as the chief guest, according to a press release.
Among others, Governing Body Chairman of Dhaka Community Medical College Prof Dr Mahmudur Rahman, and freedom fighter and Ekushey Padak recipient Prof Dr. Quazi Quamruzzaman, Chairman, Dhaka Community Hospital Trust also addressed.
Valiant freedom fighter Kaiser Ahmed said, "We all have to work together to protect the country."
Prof Monirul Alam said, "We have to come forward to build the country along with our studies."
Earlier, the programme started with the hoisting of the national flag and the singing of the national anthem at sunrise. In this, deep respect and gratitude were expressed to all the brave freedom fighters who participated in the great liberation war and the souls of the martyrs were prayed for.
Total 20 students participated the essay competition on the topic of 'Freedom is mine'.
Prof Dr Quazi Quamruzzaman handed over the awards to winners.
