PA Reform Commission Chair's Briefing Marred

Muyeed, Mehedi's comments irk journalists

A commotion erupted in the Public Administration Ministry on Tuesday after Public Administration Reform Commission Chairman Abdul Muyeed Chowdhury and student representative of the commission Mehedi Hasan commented on the role of journalists during July-August student-mass movement.

The situation was created during the view exchange meeting of the commission with the journalists covering the Bangladesh Secretariat news. Journalists came out of the meeting protesting the remarks of Muyeed Chowdhury and Mehdi Hasan against the media.

Public Administration Ministry's Senior Secretary Dr Md Mokhles Ur Rahman, also member of the commission, and other members were present. Taking floor in the meeting, student representative Mehedi Hasan, a fourth-year student of Jagannath University's Public Administration Department, said he would not appear for a Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) exams in his life due to his experience of last one and a half  month.
