Stay with people to implement BNP's reforms: Tarique tells party leaders

Agents infiltrated into party to defame BNP, take action against them, he says

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman  said on Tuesday, "I asked each and every leader and activist of BNP to be with the people because without their help it will  not be possible to implement BNP's 31point state reform proposal."  

Speaking virtually at workshops, "31-Point State Structure Reform Proposal and Public Engagement," in Dhaka, Narayanganj and Gazipur political divisions simultaneously he said, "Our leaders and workers maintained people's trust despite suffering repression and suppression. If anyone among us tries to ruin this trust for their own interests, I urge you to take stern action against them and suppress such people with strong hands."

Over 2,500 grassroots leaders from the party's upazila, thana and municipality units participated in the workshops.

Tarique said, "Agents and conspirators have infiltrated the party and urged BNP  leaders to take action against anyone attempting to defame BNP for personal gains."

He said, " As BNP enjoys the support of the majority of the people in Bangladesh, many political parties became jealous. And conspiracy is being hatched against BNP."

Tarique said, conspirators planted agents in BNP, we must remain alert and cautious.

He urged party leaders to monitor  activities of activists to ensure that no one can tarnish BNP's image for personal gains.

Tarique said, BNP must return to power with the support of the people to implement its 31-point reform proposal. 

"Our long struggle, sacrifices, and plans will go in vain if we fail to achieve this. We need public's support to succeed," he said. 

He urged his party colleagues to remain on the right path. 

"We must avoid immoral activities. We must speak out against unethical practice and oppose misdeeds," Tarique said.

He also called upon the party leaders and workers to take a vow to keep the people's confidence at any cost.

He  said that the next election will be tougher than previous polls, though BNP's main opponent has been  weakened.

"We must prepare ourselves in such a way that we can overcome the challenges with the people's support. Stay with the people and keep the people with you," Tarique said.
