Two teenage boys were reportedly stabbed to death at a Victory Day sports award ceremony in Chapainawabganj's Nachol upazila on Tuesday. Six others were injured in the incident.
The incident took place around 11:30 pm in Mallikpur area under the upazila.
The dead were Masud Ali, 17, son of Ejabul of Kholsi village in the upazila, and Raihan, 16, son of Abdur Rahim of the same area.
Locals said that a sports event was organized in that area on the occasion of Victory Day. The prize distribution ceremony for the sports was held on Tuesday night. A fight broke out between some local youths at the event. Later, a group stabbed six people on their way home. Two of them died.
Nachol Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Monirul Islam confirmed the matter and said that the youths got involved in a conflict over an award distribution ceremony. Two people died in this incident. And 6 people were injured. Police were sent to the spot. The situation is currently normal.
