Female advocate dies in Meherpur road accident

An apprentice female advocate died and three others were injured in a head-on collision between two motorcycles in Meherpur's Gangni upazila on Wednesday.

The accident occurred around 12 pm at Garadob on the Meherpur-Kushtia regional highway.
The dead was Romana Akter, 35, daughter of late Khokon Ali of Kashyappara in Meherpur town. She worked as a trainee lawyer at the Dhaka Judge Court.

Quoting locals, Gangni Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Bani Israel said that the woman was going to Gangni from Meherpur on a motorcycle. On the way, her motorcycle collided with another motorcycle from the front. She fell on road. Just at that time, another motorcycle ran over her and fled. 

Five people, including him, were seriously injured in this. She was rescued and taken to Meherpur General Hospital where doctors declared her dead.
