Victory Day Kabaddi begins today

With participation of 12 teams, the Victory Day Kabaddi is beginning today (Thursday) at the Capt M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium at the Historic Paltan Ground in Dhaka. Both the men's and women's event will be played there. 

The participants of the women's event are Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Ansar and VDP, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Narail District, Faridpur District, and Joypurhat District. The men's teams are Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Air Force, Bangladesh Navy, Bangladesh Police, Bangladesh Jail, and Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence. 

Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation, the organisers of the events are planning to pick squad of national team for test series against Sri Lanka, Nepal, and India. 

Both men's and women's events will be played in two rounds. The first round will be the group round. Toppers of the group round will engage in the semi-finals and final. The finals of both events will be played on 24 December. 

In this regard, a press briefing was held at the Dutch Bangla Bank Auditorium of Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) in Dhaka on Wednesday. 

The Kabaddi officials said they would pick the best for Bangladesh National Kabaddi Team for the test series. They also said that the test series would be played on the next February.
