Dubai-based expatriate businessman Md. Zakir Hossain has received CIP Medal-2025 and an award for his contribution to increasing the country's remittances.
The government conferred the honor on him as a Commercially Important Person (CIP) at Dhaka Osmani Memorial Auditorium on Wednesday afternoon.
Advisor to the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare & Overseas Employment Dr. Asif Nazrul was present as the chief guest and presented the medals and certificates. Advisor to the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan were also present.
However, since Zakir Hossain was outside the country, his younger brother Nazrul Islam accepted the CIP medal and honor on his behalf.
CIP Md Zakir Hossain, son of late Abdul Motaleb, hailed from Uttar Pennai village under Daudkandi upazila in Cumilla, has been doing business in Dubai for 32 years and making a special contribution to the country's economy by sending remittances.
