A protest march was held at Jagannath University on Thursday, December 19, demanding an investigation into and trial for the covert killings of revolutionaries, as well as the prosecution of terrorists from banned organisations operating across the country.
The march began at the university's Shanto Chattar, with protesters chanting slogans and marching around the campus. The demonstrators raised slogans, including "My brother lies in the grave, why are the killers free?", "Revolutionaries, unite!", "Stop fascism", "We've given our blood, we will give more!", "The address of the Awami League is the address of dictatorship", "This will not happen in Bangla", and "The war is not over."
Junaid Masud, a student from the Institute of Education and Research, expressed his anger, "The corrupt Awami League, officials, and Chhatra League are still active in the Bangla. They are conspiring to harm and kill revolutionaries. Our struggle is not over."
Tanjil, a student from the Department of Islamic Studies, added, "Across the country, revolutionaries are being targeted, beaten, and killed. In this climate of fear, revolutionaries are living in constant insecurity. If the government cannot provide protection to revolutionaries, how can the benefits of our revolution ever be realised? If the government fails in its duty to safeguard revolutionaries, how will they protect 180 million citizens? If you betray our trust, we will have nothing left. If forced to the edge, we will take to the streets once again, as we did in the July mass uprising."
