Law and order situation remains normal at the Ijtema ground on Thursday. However, no cases have been filed over the four deaths reported at yesterday's clash.
Iskandar Habibur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Tongi West Police Station, said the army has removed the barricades set up on Kamarpara Road in Tongi after the clash and is patrolling the area.
Traffic remains normal from Tongi to Joydebpur, said Al Mamun, Inspector of Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway Police.
Meanwhile in Sreepur, Tabligh members following Maulana Zubair held a peaceful programme, protesting the deaths of their peers and seeking a ban on the followers of the other Tabligh Jamaat faction led by Maulana Saad.
They gathered in front of Sreepur Model Police Station around 10:30am, where a 10-member delegation of the faction presented their demands verbally to the station's OC, Joynal Abedin Mondal.
"They also demanded exemplary punishment for those involved in the killings and cessation on activities of Saad supporters at the Sreepur Markaz Mosque," the OC added.
They later held a procession march from in front of the station that concluded at the Upazila Parishad premises.
