Unidentified woman dies in being hit by bus in city's Motijheel

An unidentified woman died after being run over by a BRTC bus under the capital's Motijheel Metrorail station on Thursday.

The accident took place at around 7 pm in front of the Krishi Bank under the Motijheel Metrorail station.
Locals brought the woman, aged around 45, to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared her dead at around 7:45 pm.

Saiful Islam, a rickshaw driver who brought the woman to Dhaka Medical College, said that the woman was a beggar. She used to beg under the Motijheel Metro Station. She was begging under the station in the evening. At that time, a double-decker BRTC bus coming from behind ran over the woman. Later, she was rushed to the hospital where she died.
