Police filed a case on charges of attempted to robbery at Rupali Bank in Keraniganj, Dhak on Thursday afternoon.
The case was filed on Thursday (December 19) night.
Mazharul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Keraniganj South Police Station, said that three robbers -- Lyon Molla, Arafat and Sifat, who surrendered, have been arrested in this case.
Police will produce the accused before a court of Friday afternoon and will seek seven days to interrogate them, he added.
Earlier, three robbers stormed the Jinjira branch of Rupali Bank in the Chunkutia Pakapol area of South Keraniganj in Dhaka at around 2PM on Thursday and took 10 bank officials and six clients hostage.
According to RAB-10, the three robbers entered the branch and demanded Tk 15 lakh. Later, they surrendered along with their firearms to the joint force after their failed attempt to rob the bank.
Law enforcement agencies took the three to their custody, ending a 3.5-hour standoff.
Meanwhile, during initial interrogation, they claimed that they would help a kidney-patient with the robbed money.
