7 rescued as fire engulfs restaurant in Uttara

Firefighters have, so far, rescued seven people after a fire broke out at a restaurant at Uttara in Dhaka, on Friday morning.

The fire originated around 10:38am at Love Leen restaurant at Uttara-12 and being informed initially nine units firefighters from Uttara, Tongi, Baridhara, Kurmitola, and Siddik Bazar fire stations rushed to the spot, said Anwarul Islam, an official of Fire Service and Civil Defence media wing.

He said so far, seven individuals have been successfully rescued from the blaze, while a total of 12 firefighting units are working together to douse the inferno.

However, the cause of the fire could not be known immediately.
