Owner among two held over Uttara restaurant fire

Police arrested two individuals including, owner of Love Leen Bangla Restaurant in connection with a fire that originated at the restaurant on Friday morning.
 
Mahmudul Hasan, sub-inspector of Uttara West Police Station, on Saturday said that a case has already been filed and owner of restaurant was arrested in this connection. Another person was held for reportedly trying to destroy the evidence.

Earlier, on Friday, a fire broke out at Love Leen Bangla Restaurant in Uttara's Sector 12 around 10:38AM and 12 units of fire fighters brought the flame under control at around 2PM.

According to the Alam Hossain, senior station officer of Uttara Fire Service and Civil Defence, the restaurant had been operating without approval for its fire safety plan and was lacked adequate firefighting equipment.
