The stage is set for a thrilling showdown as Bangladesh Under-19 Women take on India Under-19 Women in the final of the maiden edition of the ACC Under-19 Asia Cup at the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur today. The Tigresses are brimming with confidence as they aim to follow in the footsteps of Bangladesh's Men's Under-19 team, who clinched the Asia Cup title by defeating India on December 8 this year.

The match is scheduled to begin at 7:30 am (BST).

Led by the inspirational Sumaiya Akter, the Tigresses have been the standout team of the tournament delivering disciplined performances across all departments. Their campaign has been marked by exceptional bowling and a resilient batting lineup.

Four Bangladeshi batters Mosammat Eva, Sadia Akter, Fahomida Choya and Jannatul Maoua feature among the top 10 scorers in the tournament so far. For India, GV Trisha and G Kamalini hold spots in the top 10 as well. Among the leading wicket-takers, Bangladesh is represented by Nishita Akter Nishi, Anisa Akter Soba and Habiba Islam, while Aayushi Shukla, Parunika Sisodia and SM Yadav from India feature prominently. Additionally, all-rounders Habiba Islam and Afia Ashima along with wicketkeeper Juairiya Ferdous, have been instrumental in securing Bangladesh's place in the final.

India's depth in batting and variety in bowling make them formidable opponents. Players like Gongadi Trisha, Ishwari Awsare and Sanika Chalke have been instrumental in setting strong platforms for the Girls in Blue throughout the tournament.

The Young Tigresses enter the final with renewed confidence after securing a thrilling 28-run victory over Sri Lanka in their opening match, followed by a commanding 120-run win over Malaysia to emerge as champions from Group A. Despite a setback in their first Super Four match, where they lost to India by seven wickets, Bangladesh bounced back with a resounding nine-wicket win over Nepal in the last Super Four game to book their place in the final.

India, the Group A champions, began their campaign with a dominant nine-wicket win against Pakistan and shared points with Nepal in a rain-affected match to progress to the Super Four stage. Victories over Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in the Super Four ensured their spot in the final.

The head-to-head record stands evenly poised, with both teams securing one win in their two previous encounters.

The Bayuemas Oval pitch has historically favored spinners, setting the stage for a low-scoring contest. Morning rain is also a possibility making the toss crucial. The team winning the toss is likely to prefer chasing to take advantage of the early conditions.

With both teams in superb form and the stakes at an all-time high, fans can expect an enthralling finale to the maiden ACC Under-19 Asia Cup.
