RAJSHAHI, Dec, 21: Three members of a family were killed in a collision between a bus and a motorcycle in Puthia upazila here on Saturday. The incident occurred in the afternoon in Shibpur area of the upazila.
The deceased were identified as Abu Hanif, 25, his wife Fatema Khatun, 20, and Fatema's younger sister Juthi Khatun, 14.
Citing witnesses, Poba Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mozammel Haque Kazi said Abu Hanif was travelling towards Natore with his wife and sister-in-law on a motorcycle. When they reached near Shibpur, a bus struck their motorcycle, killing Abu Hanif and Juthi on the spot. Fatema was critically injured and rushed to the nearby hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
OC Mozammel added legal action would be taken regarding the incident. The bus involved in the collision has not been identified yet.
