The students of Prime Asia University blockade Banani-Kakoli intersection in Dhaka on Sunday for the second consecutive day to press home their several demands, including the construction of a permanent campus and the resignation of the chairman of the board of trustees.

According to the sources, due to the demonstration that began at 3:10PM serious traffic disruptions occurred in the area. Later, they were dispersed at around 3:45PM.

The agitating students alleged that they have been promised a permanent campus for a long time, but it has not been provided yet.
Students expressed their grievances and said that one of their departments was supposed to shift there by December, but the Board of Trustees is attempting to sell the land for the permanent campus at 300ft in Purbachal instead of relocating academic activities there.

They have demanded the resignation of Nasir Uddin and other responsible authorities and insist on being shifted to the permanent campus without further delay.

Russell Sarwar, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Banani Police Station, said that the students had blocked the road in Banani on Saturday to stage protest.

They held the protest progamme for the second consecutive day alleging that several members of the university’s Board of Trustees have embezzled money and they want this money to be recovered, he added
