Six ‘extortionists’ held with sharp weapons in Mohammadpur

Members of Bangladesh Army detained six individuals for their alleged in extortion from Nabodoy Housing Society area of Mohammadpur in Dhaka on Saturday night.

An Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) release on Sunday evening said based on secret information, a unit under 46 Independent Infantry Brigade conducted the raid in the area on Saturday and detained a listed extortionist Alamgir and his five cohorts with sharp weapons from the area.

The detainees were handed over to Mohammadpur Police Station and legal action is being taken against them, the release added.
