Jatiya Nagorik Committee's member secretary Akhter Hossain talks to journalists at Satmatha in the Rangpur city on early Sunday (December 22) afternoon.

Though there is no legal bar on Awami League to take part in the next general election, the country's students and people will not allow the party to join the polls in any way until the end of the trials of July-August killings and tortures, said Jatiya Nagorik Committee's member secretary Akhter Hossain.

He made the remarks while talking to journalists at Satmatha in the Rangpur city on early Sunday (December 22) afternoon.
Akhter Hossain said Awami League didn't keep open any path to get rid off the dreadful sins they had committed through the crimes against humanity including genocide during the July-August Mass Uprising.

He alleged that the terrorists and killers belonging to the Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) have been threatening their colleagues. They have been committing murders in different parts of the country. But, they have not been tried so far. If necessary, students and people are ready to spill their blood again if the Awami League tries to take part in the next general election. They (AL) would not be allowed to take part in the next election in any way.

Referring to the law and order situation prevailing all over the country, Akhter Hossain said if the country's police force don't join their respective duties to bring the law and order under control, the educated youths who took part in the July-August mass uprising, would be inducted to the police force.

About the floating of a new political party, the Jatiya Nagorik Committee member secretary said: "We didn't hesitate to sacrifice our lives to free the country and its people taking part actively in the July-August Mass Uprising. We felt the necessity of appearing as a new political force or floating a political party at that time. We are moving ahead to float a new political party to fulfill the hopes and aspirations of the country's people. The youths will form the new political party to materialize the dreams of July revolution. We won't adopt the ideology of any political party, rather we would give priority to the interest of Bangladesh. Our new political party will take oath to protect the country's interest at any cost."
