Army detains 6 alleged extortionists in city 

The members of Bangladesh Army in an overnight raid on Sunday arrested alleged extortionist Alamgir and his five cohorts with sharp weapons in Mohammad-pur Nabodoy Housing Society area in the capital.

"Based on secret information, a unit under 46 Independent Infantry Brigade conducted the raid in the area last night and detained a listed extortionist Alamgir along with his five other accomplices," said an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) release here. 

The arrested were handed over to Mohammadpur Police Station and legal action is being taken against them, the ISPR release added.    —BSS
