Farmer hacked to death over land dispute in Chuadanga

A farmer was allegedly hacked to death by his opponents in public over a land dispute in Chuadanga's Alamdanga Upazila on Sunday night.

The incident took place at around 8 pm at Majherpara of Ramdia village under Khaskarra union of the upazila. 
The victim Ahmed Sharif, 45, was a resident of that area.

Three others were seriously injured in the incident. They are Abdul Alim, 40, Selim, 55, and Selim's son Shoaib, 33, of the same area.

Injured Abdul Alim said, 'The victim Sharif had a land dispute with local one Ansar for a long time. Ansar and Farid had been threatening him in various ways. They carried out a planned attack on Sunday evening. Sharif was killed on the spot. Besides, two others, including me, are seriously injured and admitted to the hospital.'

Alamdanga Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Masudur Rahman said, 'We reached the spot after receiving the information, The injured are undergoing treatment at Harinakundu Health Complex. Legal action will be taken in this regard.'
