A bikash trader was hacked to injured at Dashmina upazila in Patuakhali district on Sunday night.
The incident happened at around 9:30pm at Baharpur village under Baharpur union in the upazila.
The injured is Soleman Howlader, 35, son of Motlab Howlader, a resident of the area.
It was learnt that Soleman has a Bikash service and a pharmacy business at Amtala Bazar, beside his house.
Some miscreants, including Sumon Sardar, 30, hacked Soleman indiscriminately, leaving him critically injured. Then, Sumon was detained by local people and was bitten. After that, Sumon was handed over to the Dashmina Police.
Md Abdul Alim, officer-in-charge of Dashmina Police Station, confirmed the matter.
