26 held in city by Army

Bangladesh Army arrested 26 people in the last five days from various areas in the capital, including Tejgaon, Mohakhali, Dhanmondi, Mohammadpur and Kamrangirchar.

“Several units under 46 separate infantry brigades conducted separate drives from December 18-22 in many areas in the capital and detained a total of 26 people for their alleged involvements in various criminal activities, including murder cases’ convicts, drug dealers, identified extortionists and fake employers,” said an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) release on Monday evening.
A huge amount of contraband drugs, sharp weapons and illegal money were recovered from their possessions during the drives where locals provided spontaneous cooperation in this connection, the ISPR added.
