HAZIGANJ, CHANDPUR, Dec 24: A motorcyclist was killed after a bus hit a motorcycle in Haziganj Upazila of the district on Monday night.
The incident occurred at around 7pm at Khalapara Village on the Cumilla-Chandpur highway in the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Md Harun-ur-Rashid Julhas, 27, son of late Abdul Jalil, a resident of Chandpur Sadar Upazila.
It was learnt that a bus hit Harun's motorcycle in the area while he was going to his home from Haziganj market, leaving him critically injured.
Locals rescued him and took him to Chandpur Sadar Hospital, where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
Md Mohiuddin Faruque, officer-in-charge of Haziganj Police Station, confirmed the matter.
